One of my fellow writers at Stars and Stripes Japan alerted me to this wonderful neighborhood gem, which is actually a small recycled wastewater pond next to the water treatment plant. It is home to a variety of insects and birds including dragonflies, crawfish, and kingfishers. In the mornings, there are beautiful water lilies that are open and orange and yellow koi fish.
I have been back several times and each time find something new to discover!
